Who is Tippy?
The name Petals By Tippy came about because of my name Hortensia. If you do the research, you come to find out that Hortensia in Latin, means garden. The nickname Tippy originated with my mother calling me Tippy as a child. Hortensia also means hydrangea in Spanish and French. I’m literally a flower!
Petals By Tippy started as a fun hobby I’d do with the girls. We’d craft together, share ideas, laugh and cry together. It was our thing to do. But one day, one of my friends introduced me to a new machine. From there, I started to make paper hydrangeas, using styrofoam globes and my flower petals. I fell in love with the process, but I craved more! I moved on to paper roses, and then paper flower arrangements. Soon I was making flower boxes, and then cards. I’m still learning and growing in my craft and I’m so excited to take you along with me! You can find me at various craft shows throughout the year.
